Amadeus Jan 23

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. I don’t have a particulary good excuse — just never got around to writing. But now, at least, I have some exciting news to report.

AmadeusI was cast in our upcoming production of Amadeus at BLT. Originally I was cast as Count Orsini-Rosenberg, a small but fun character part. That all changed on Saturday evening when I got a call from the director, Jason Howard. He asked me if I’d be willing to take over the role of Salieri!

For those unfamiliar with the show, Salieri is probably the biggest, meatiest role available in any show I know. I literally never leave the stage, from curtain to curtain. It means I’ve got a ton of lines to learn, and very little time to learn them, but I’m really excited by it. It’s going to be a really good show.

I hope that any of you who can get out to the Baytown area will be able to make it to a performance. We have shows February 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23nd at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on February 17nd at 2 p.m. I believe thatticket sales to the general public begin n February 4th, but I wanted to get the word out so all my friends can start planning their calendars now. ;)

I’m a real Texan now Jan 02

2008 Nissan FrontierOK. It’s official. I’m a Texan. I’m now the proud owner of a brand new 4×4 pickup truck! Though, I suppose to be truly authentic, it should have been an American made truck. But this will do. It’s a 2008 Nissan Frontier. The only thing missing is a gun rack, but I suspect Wendy would divorce me if I even attempted to have one put in. ;)

I know it’s a bit ridiculous to have a four wheel drive vehicle in an area that only sees show once every 5-10 years. But we got stuck on the beach this past summer in my Xterra, and I wanted to be able to drive out to remote beaches without worrying about getting out again.

Guess I’ll have to start wearing a cowboy hat and boots, buy a big belt buckle, and say things like “I’m fixin ta head down the road a piece. Ya’ll wanna ride in my truck?”
