Amadeus
I know it's been a while since I've posted anything. I don't have a particulary good excuse -- just never got around to writing. But now, at least, I have some exciting news to report.
I was cast in our upcoming production of Amadeus at BLT. Originally I was cast as Count Orsini-Rosenberg, a small but fun character part. That all changed on Saturday evening when I got a call from the director, Jason Howard. He asked me if I'd be willing to take over the role of Salieri!
For those unfamiliar with the show, Salieri is probably the biggest, meatiest role available in any show I know. I literally never leave the stage, from curtain to curtain. It means I've got a ton of lines to learn, and very little time to learn them, but I'm really excited by it. It's going to be a really good show.
I hope that any of you who can get out to the Baytown area will be able to make it to a performance. We have shows February 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23nd at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on February 17nd at 2 p.m. I believe thatticket sales to the general public begin n February 4th, but I wanted to get the word out so all my friends can start planning their calendars now. ;)
