The cast has been set for "The Music Man" at
BLT. I'm "Salesman #1" and in the chorus. (The five salesmen have a choral speaking bit at the beginning of the show.) I was in this same show in High School, and I was one of the salesmen then as well, though I don't remember which number. Once I have a script I'll know if it's the same part or not.

Mr Roberts opens at
Baytown Little Theater one week from tomorrow. That's Friday, June 2, at 8PM. It runs for three consecutive weekends. People may be familiar with the movie of the same name, starring Henry Fonda, which is based on the play. Jack Lemmon was also in the movie, and got an Oscar for best supporting actor (Kent Pool plays that role in our show)

(what is a "petard" anyway?)
Or "the shoe is on the other foot". Or "What goes around comes around." Whatever your favorite version of the sentiment may be. I've become the most recent example of it.

As Wendy mentioned on her blog, Kyle has announced the cast list for "Sordid Lives" at BLT. I think it's going to be a really good show.

OK. So, apparently, there's a big controversy going on about the movie, "The End of the Spear" because the person who plays a leading role in it, Chad Allen, is gay, as well as being an activist for gay rights. Now, I haven't seen the movie (nor do I have any particular plans to see it) so take this all with a large grain of salt.

Just some fairly insignificant thoughts on the Joseph story, plus a blurb about the musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"

I've decided not to accept the role of "Jack" in "The Importance of Being Earnest." The deciding factor was really Katie's discomfort level. This is her first chance at a big role, and I don't want to get in the way by making it harder for her. The fact that I'd already sheduled to be out of town closing weekend also entered into the decision.
Surprisingly, the "Gordon factor" wasn't a part of it. I think I can deal with him as well as anybody else can.

The Daily Bible readings have moved on to 2 John today (December 6), and I've got another "issue." Specifically, 2 John 1 9-11:

I've got a decision to make, and I need to make it quicky.
I went with Rahel to auditions for "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde at BLT. I had no intention of auditioning myself, because I was planning on being out of town the last weekend for a trip with Wendy. But, of course, Gordon ignored that and cast me anyway. So I need to decide if I'm going to accept the part or not.
In favor of the part:
- I like Oscar Wilde
- It's the lead (Jack)
But on the other side:
